Rick Williams and his sons grow veggies and berries in Whitehall. Their farm is named Sugar Beet Row after a street of row houses built back in the day for the town’s sugar beet factory workers. Rick sells produce at the Butte and Anaconda Farmers Markets and at Dancing Rainbow Natural Grocery. While accepting Double SNAP tokens at market, he saw that food insecurity affects people of all walks of life and all ages, and realized that stereotypes he had long bought into were wrong. He wants to continue to help get nutritious food to those who can’t otherwise access it, and would be extremely proud to help build a community farm that grows and donates fresh, nutritious local food to the Butte Rescue Mission and Butte Emergency Food Bank!
